When you go to a Korean restaurant,
there's this spicy and sweet chewy side dish called "Oingeochae muchim"
Dried squid with gochujang (Korean chili paste), sugar, and something~^^
This is one of those side dishes (mitbanchan) that we prepare, store in a fridge, and serve for several days kind of dishes*^^*
"Banchan" is for all the side dishes and "Mitbanchan" usually made out of dried ingredients.
So you don't have to make it everyday.
This is one of my favorites. Try this~^^
100 grams (3.5 oz) oingeochae (dried, sliced squid)
3 tablespoons gochujang (Korean chili paste)
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1/2 teaspoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon sesame seeds
1/8 teaspoon minced garlic
salt
Mix all ingredients except for squid.
Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
Add squid and mix with hand.
It seems that the seasoning is not enough, but it is.
Just try to coat the seasoning evenly to squid.
Serve with rice.
